The first exhibition project of THE SPIRITUAL IN ART COLLECTIVE brings together works, activations, Mail Art and documentation developed by the artists in their respective countries.
The works are dispersed across different locations. From their coordinates emerges the Collective’s first “di-segno” — an Italian wordplay bringing together drawing and sign: a line of connection between places and presences. Distance becomes part of the curatorial framework.
THE SPIRITUAL IN ART began as a research project before becoming an exhibition. The dialogue initiated through the Open Call continues through practices, materials and activations developed across different locations.
The Mail Art works received function as letters of intent: keywords connecting each artist to the practice through which they investigate the spiritual. This first official body of documentation may become the prelude to a future Manifesto.
Over the next twelve months, creative and exhibition activities — not necessarily taking place at Nellimya Arthouse — will contribute to defining the Collective’s identity, direction and future trajectory.
THE SPIRITUAL IN ART is open to collaborations with galleries, exhibition spaces, foundations, cultural institutions, curators, researchers, festivals, biennials and independent organisations.

Nellimya Arthouse engages facilitators, researchers and professionals in seminars, workshops and practices in dialogue with research into spirituality in art and consciousness.
