THE SPIRITUAL IN ART COLLECTIVE enters a new phase of research and project development.

NEXT is an open working space. Individual research practices are brought into relation in order to identify affinities, open dialogues and develop new projects, while preserving the autonomy and specificity of each artist’s research.

NOW: the research has taken form.

CONTINUOUS DIALOGUE

Research does not end with the production of works. It continues through dialogue, through the possibility of engaging with different practices, references and perspectives on the relationship between the spiritual and contemporary art.

Recurring online meetings dedicated to dialogue among the artists of the Collective, moderated by Dr Valentina Locatelli.

A space for sharing experiences, questions and perspectives, accompanying the evolution of each individual research practice over time.

COLLECTIVE PORTFOLIO

The Collective is developing a shared portfolio that brings together individual research practices, existing works and new projects in development.

Each artist contributes through a selection of works that are significant to their research into the spiritual in art. The Portfolio also documents projects conceived or developed within the context of the Collective.

Its aim is not to standardise different positions, but to make visible their specificities, affinities and possible fields of relation.

RESEARCH AXES
What does it mean today to bring the spiritual into art, and which dimension of the spiritual is being explored?
How does the spiritual enter artistic practice: as theme, method, process, experience or way of perceiving?
Which themes, questions, references, genealogies and lines of thought shape the research?
Which critical positions, new forms and new approaches may emerge in the relationship between the spiritual and contemporary art?
The Portfolio will become a tool for research, presentation and relationship-building with curators, institutions, foundations, galleries and other international cultural interlocutors.
COLLECTIVE STRUCTURE

COORDINATION AND REPRESENTATION

Artists retain full autonomy in their own research and professional relationships.

Projects emerging from artistic relationships among members of THE SPIRITUAL IN ART COLLECTIVE are coordinated and represented by Nellimya Arthouse, which serves as the Collective’s curatorial and organisational structure of reference.

Nellimya Arthouse is open to collaborations with external partners. Each collaboration is defined on a case-by-case basis, according to the content of the project, the artists involved, responsibilities, production requirements and its financial framework.
